Our Math Skill-Building Workshops are designed to help your child walk into the new school year feeling prepared, confident, and in control of math. Instead of losing ground over the summer, students spend time strengthening the exact skills that cause the most frustration during the year-so September feels like a fresh start, not a catch-up race.
Each workshop focuses on core concepts your child needs for success, such as number sense, fractions and decimals, problem-solving, and early algebra thinking. We group students by grade band, so an incoming 3rd grader is not working on the same material as an incoming 7th grader. That way, every activity feels appropriately challenging and directly relevant to what they will see in class. As an experienced math educator, I structure these sessions to be both rigorous and encouraging. Students solve real problems together, talk through their reasoning, and get immediate, specific feedback. We use interactive activities, digital tools, and short bursts of focused practice to keep energy high and attention strong, even for younger learners.
Parents appreciate that these workshops are not random worksheets. We begin by identifying each student's strengths and gaps, then intentionally revisit the foundations that need reinforcement. Along the way, we highlight strategies for checking work, decoding word problems, and staying calm when a question looks unfamiliar. Whether your child struggled this year or is ready for more challenge, these Math Skill-Building Workshops provide structured practice, expert guidance, and a confidence boost that carries into every subject that relies on math. By the end, students do not just remember more-they believe they can handle what comes next.
